Soundtrack Of The 50‘s.
In the 1950s, the USA became a place of longing for freedom, progress and prosperity, the American dream a model for the world. This attitude towards life is undoubtedly associated with the music of that time, which still reminds us of pink Cadillacs, milkshakes and ice cream bombs. This vinyl tells exactly this story and provides the incomparable soundtrack of the fifties. It became the decade of teenagers and with them of rock ‚n‘ roll and youth fashion. Ben Hur won 11 Oscars, Jackson Pollock became the new star of the art scene, the polio vaccine was developed. The ideological battle between communism and capitalism dominated the decade, and especially for the first time on television. On February 3, 1959, a private plane carrying three American rock and roll musicians, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J. P. „The Big Bopper“ Richardson, crashed, killing all four occupants on board, including pilot Roger Peterson. The tragedy is later referred to as „The Day The Music Died.“ Along with Elvis Presley‘s enlistment in the U.S. Army, this event is often considered the day the 1950s era of rock ‚n‘ roll ended.
